Ferruccio Merisi
After being a pupil of Sisto Dalla Palma at the UniversitÓ Cattolica in Milan and attending the direction courses at the Civica Scuola d'Arte Drammatica del Piccolo Teatro directed by Giorgio Strehler, he went in Denmark at the Odin Teatret of Eugenio Barba in order to specialize himself.
He was one of the founders of the Teatro Di Ventura (one of the groups for theatre research in milan in the '70s) with a role of playwright, director and pedagogue. He was managing director first and artistic director afterward for the International Festival in Santarcangelo di Romagna from 1980 to 1984. In the same town he founded and directed the Istituto di Cultura Teatrale. Then he moved to Venice where he was a teacher for contemporary languages at the Workshop of the Teatro a l'Avogaria form 1985 to 1989 and in the same time directed te special projects of the regional theatre association Arteven, with more than 15 season, 10 meetings and 50 workshops, in various cities as Rovigo, Padova, Este, Monselice, Castelfranco, Belluno, Montebelluna and Venezia.
In 1985 he founded in Pordenone the Company Attori & Cantori and the the Compagnia Hellequin; in 1990, always in Pordenone, together with the actress and researcher Claudia Contin Arlecchino, estabilished "his" Scuola Sperimentale dell'Attore.
He directed and/or wrote, from 1976 till today, more than 100 plays, specializing in playwright of "popular research", based also on classical texts. He has a passion for the theatre of the body and of the language, often joining the tow aspects with original results, giving his contribution to the research on the Commedia dell'Arte together with Claudia Contin Arlecchino.
