a simple wording for a concrete and demanding programme. Obviously, within the time limits of the 1999 meeting, we will not practise much more than the "fundamentals". However, both through the circus disciplines and those belonging to the Commedia dell'Arte, even a little journey into the dimension of the challenge to the apparent limits of physical reality can be an irreplaceable background for the professionalism and the creative independence of the contemporary actor.
