THE BIOMECHANICS
The Commedia dell’Arte of the Scuola Sperimentale dell’Attore of Pordenone goes on in its project of meeting the main representatives of the theatrical culture of the world, with a view to recovering them in favour of the new generations of actors and audience. Defined as “the most revolutionary among the theatrical theories of the XXth century”, generated by the unconditioned passion of a great Russian director and Master, Vsevolod Meyerchol’d - eliminated by shooting in 1940 following the imposition of (socialist) realism - Biomechanics is not an acting method, but a training practice, a new vision that the actor can acquire regarding his materials of training of one’s own imagination. Both these methods must be rejected as they are creation: first of all his own body, set in the respect and in the challenge of the physical laws and turned on by their necessity bond with mental and psychic reactivity. As a consequence of this, Biomechanics can also constitute a sort of quality guarantee for the spectator.
